A rental can be extended in your dashboard or through the API before the current term ends. The number stays the same, and the new period is added to the remaining one.
To avoid tracking the date, turn on auto-renewal: the rental extends itself if the balance holds enough funds at renewal time. If it does not, the rental ends as usual.
