With offline rental the number is assigned to you for the whole term but is not online all the time: you switch reception on yourself when you expect a code. That is why such a rental costs less than a regular one.
Reception can be switched on with free sessions — their length and daily count are limited, and current limits are shown in the dashboard — or with a paid package of continuous airtime when the number needs to stay online longer.
